Welcome to the 2027 Columbians Auditions! We’re excited that you’re taking the first step toward becoming part of the Columbians. Auditions are about more than earning a spot in the corps. They’re an opportunity to learn, grow, challenge yourself, and meet the people you may spend your summer alongside. Come ready to work hard, try something new, and show us what you can bring to the field. Wherever you are in your journey, we’re glad you’re here. Let’s discover what you’re capable of.

Choose how you’ll join us for your 2027 Columbians audition and the Audition Guide you’ll use to prepare. We strongly encourage you to audition in person whenever possible. It’s the best way to work directly with our staff, meet other auditionees, experience the culture of the Columbians, and get a feel for what it could be like to spend your summer with us. Choose from our westside audition in the Portland area or our eastside audition in Pasco, WA.  If you can’t make it in person, virtual auditions are available. Everyone who attends an in-person audition will also receive a 2027 Columbians Audition T-shirt.

Your Audition Guide has everything you need to get ready, including what to prepare, what to bring, instrument-specific information, and what to expect at your audition. Choose from Brass, Colorguard, Battery, and Front Ensemble. Your guide will be available to download as soon as you complete registration; instructions in your confirmation email. Want to audition for more than one caption/section? Select the guide for your primary audition here, you'll be able to share with us any other instruments/positions you would like to audition for and receive the guide once registration is complete.

If you are auditioning only for Drum Major or Conductor, no further action is needed at this time. We'll be in touch with additional details as January approaches. Audition Instrument/Position

Tell us a little about you! This information helps our team prepare for your audition and stay connected with you throughout the audition process. All auditionees will be invited to the Columbians Auditionee Slack, so please provide an email address you check regularly.

All Auditionees and Parents will be invited to join the Columbians Drum & Bugle Corps Slack - Audition Channel. Slack will be the primary vehicle for auditionees to interact with instructors, corps leadership and other auditionees. Auditionees will be expected to visit and view the Slack channel in preparation for their audition. Separate email addresses for auditionees and parents are highly recommended for this stage of the process, and they will be required for membership in the corps.

    Audition & Marching Experience

We want to make sure we know who to contact when we need to. If you are under 18, information for at least one Parent or Guardian is required. Parents and Guardians who provide their own unique email addresses will also be invited to join the Columbians Slack environment as observers so they can stay informed throughout the audition process.

Every season, the Columbians Drum & Bugle Corps helps young performers discover what they're capable of, both on and off the field. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, the Columbians relies on the generosity of families, alumni, and supporters to keep this incredible experience accessible to more marchers. If you'd like to help make a difference, consider adding a small donation to your audition registration. Every dollar helps!
